In His Image–Are We Beings of Light?

🌄 Morning Musings from the Stoic Stoner: "Are We Beings of Light?"

“Man is made in the image of God.” — Genesis 1:27

“And God said, 'Let there be light.'” — Genesis 1:3

“Pass the lighter, bro.” — Ancient Stoic Stoner proverb ☕💨🎶

This morning, as I sit outside with coffee in one hand and a good groove vibrating from the Bluetooth speaker, I take that slow exhale... and a thought rises like smoke from a pipe:

If we are created in the image of God...

And God’s first act was to speak light into existence...

Are we, in some deep and literal way, beings of light?

🔬 Enter: Dr. Fritz-Albert Popp, the Biophoton Prophet

Dr. Popp, a German biophysicist (and lowkey metaphysical badass), shook the scientific scene when he discovered biophotons — ultra-weak pulses of light emitted by living cells. Not metaphorically. Literally.

These tiny flashes of light come from our DNA, and though they can't be seen with the naked eye, they can be measured with the right gear. What Popp discovered wasn't just that we emit light... but that our cells use it to communicate, to heal, to coordinate, and maybe... just maybe... to remember who we are.

We are wrapped in a cloud of light — constantly interacting, vibrating, and resonating with the world around us.

Sound familiar?

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” — John 1:5

🧘‍♂️ What Would Marcus Aurelius Say?

Marcus probably never heard of biophotons, but he knew something about the divine spark within. In his Meditations, he wrote:

“You have within you a part of God; it is this that connects you to the universe.”

To the Stoic, Logos — the divine reason that orders the cosmos — isn’t just “out there.” It’s inside us. Maybe what Popp showed with light, Marcus said with metaphor.

And maybe the two are starting to overlap.

🌱 Cannabis, Consciousness & Communication

This is where the Stoic Stoner lights up — not just the joint, but the insight.

Cannabis can help slow the mind and open perception. It quiets the noise so we can tune in to subtler frequencies — the way our body breathes, the hum of thoughts, the sensation of being… light.

Biophotons don’t just exist in isolation. They communicate. Think about that.

Your body is having a light-speed conversation with itself — your cells syncing, guiding, and healing. Meditation deepens it. Music harmonizes it. Gratitude magnifies it.

And cannabis? It doesn't create the light — it may just help you see it better.

☀️ The Image of God, Refracted Through You

So, if we really are made in God’s image — maybe it’s not about bones and skin and the shape of our nose.

Maybe it’s frequency. Maybe it’s light. Maybe God’s image is refracted through us like sunlight through stained glass: colorful, messy, broken... and still beautiful.

To live as a Stoic Stoner is to remember:

You are light, even on heavy days.

You are divine, even when you feel dull.

You are connected, even when you feel alone.

Take a breath. Let it out slow.

You are here. You are glowing.

You are... Light.
